Happy New Year

It's been a long time since I last blogged and I have been wanting to write to you all but time has gotten the best of me. I wanted to give an update on my detoxification progress thus far. I took a break from DMSA for a while because I felt really good but then I started getting more frequent migraines and painful menstrual cycles again.

I recently started taking DMSA the past 2 months and every time I do a round (4 days on 10-15 days off) my migraines aren't as bad and my menstrual cycles are not as painful. I am not doing anything different then before, just continuing to support my kidneys and my liver on off-cycles and taking a multivitamin and fish oils along with Vitamin D. I also stay regularly adjusted by my chiropractor which helps a lot.

I use to feel really good when I went on a round of DMSA but this last round I could not wait to come off. I hear that symptoms can can be different each cycle with how you feel good or bad. I just didn't feel like myself this last round of DMSA and I felt all out of sorts. It scares me when I get feelings like that because I fear of going back to where I was 4 years ago. Good news, when I was sick 4 years ago that feeling was 10x worse then the feeling I experience now. I also had a bit of anxiety which I haven't had in a long time but again it was not as bad as it was 4 years ago when I was originally sick. I was able to push through it with prayer and it was on/off in a matter of no time. Where before, it would stick around for a few hours or even days. I call those spells "bad butterflies" because that is exactly what it feels like.

I am excited to share that my irregular menstrual cycles and hormones seem to get better every time I detox but I am also discouraged a bit hoping I would have been done by now. I think I have at least another year left of detox if not 2. I understand it takes time and I also know God has purpose in this.

The main reason I wanted to blog is because I am hoping it may encourage anyone that may have taken a break or had been discouraged at some point in their detox. Hang in there and keep pushing through, the end results are worth it! I don't know what I would do without prayer, friends, family and of course my main support God and His word. I also want to encourage any women out there with hormone issues at any age. Heavy metal toxicity is no joke and is half the reason women today have issues with their hormones. You hear a lot about thyroid disorders and issues in women. Heavy metals, particularly mercury, love the thyroid and pituitary gland. Your thyroid and pituitary gland is like your control tower for your hormones. My suggestion if you haven't already, get tested right away. I will state that this process is not easy, detoxing heavy metals, but is it worth it-yes! I have been drug free for over 6 years now, and getting healthier and healthier as time passes by-it is worth it! And every little step I take, I get better. Remember, anything that is good for you is always hard work. This process is hard work, and it takes dedication, time, patience and yes moments of not feeling so well. But every little step you begin to take to improve your body the right way, the better you will feel and results are priceless!

So hang in there to all of you are detoxing and saying to yourself "when am I ever going to get better!?" ...and don't make 2012 full of resolutions that last the first week in January, create a list of goals & make the effort to make your goals lifestyle changes and stay focused. The results from lifestyle changes are more effective long term. If you need a coach to help you through this or even get started I can help.

I will be teaching a few classes into the New Year at The Natural Center for Health (www.tnc4health.com). Group classes on Cellular Healing Dieting and Paleo Dieting & Elimination Dieting. If you are interested please contact me so I can get you more information on dates, times, and cost.

Happy New Year!
